ALTA Update – A New Strategy To Deliver Cost Savings And The Growth Potential For The Latin American And Caribbean Aviation Industry
ALTA executive director Luis Felipe de Oliveira describes the organisation’s role in the development of the Latin American and Caribbean aviation industry as basically working in cost saving. He says: “That’s why we have an area that works very close with the oil companies, governments, to reduce the cost of fuel in the region. Cost of airports, privatisation, we have also someone looking at the concession costs in the region”. Now domiciled in Latin America following its move from Miami, ALTA is also actively working to promote aviation safety. Mr de Oliveira also highlights Panama’s positive example of how aviation can assist the development of a country and talks about the region’s ‘big potential’ to grow passenger traffic.
